Glossary

Elo rating: A number that estimates your level. Goes up when you beat better players, down when you lose to worse ones.
K-factor: How much your Elo can move per match. Higher for new players (more uncertainty), lower for veterans.
Provisional Elo: Your first 10 matches. K is double, so the system zeroes-in on your real level fast.
Starting Elo: Your initial rating, computed from a 60-second quiz when you sign up.
Season race: A leaderboard counted within a season window. Top N players win prizes; details on the Rating tab.
Seed: Your slot in the bracket based on rating. Higher seeds avoid each other in early rounds.
Bye: An automatic free pass to the next round when the bracket size doesn't divide evenly.
No-ad: Deuce point becomes sudden-death: receiver chooses side, winner takes the game. Saves time.
Super tiebreak: First to 10, win by 2 — instead of a full third set.
Walkover (W/O): Win awarded when an opponent doesn't show up. Counts for advancement, not for Elo.
Match proposal: A friendly-match request between two players. Both sides confirm before Elo updates.
Verified coach: Coach with at least 5 published reviews — earns a green Verified badge.
Trust-weighted score: Coach ranking that shrinks high averages with few reviews back toward the global mean.
Notifications outbox: Internal queue of all emails. The cron worker drains it every few minutes.

How do I sign up?
Either accept your coach's invitation email, or sign up directly with magic-link / Google.
I don't have an invitation — can I still join?
Yes. Sign up directly, take the starting quiz, and contact a coach via WhatsApp from their public profile.
We disagree on the score — what now?
Either side can mark the score as disputed. The coach reviews and decides; Elo only updates after that.
How are payments handled?
MVP: manual tracking. The coach marks bookings as paid / unpaid / comped. Online payments are coming in Phase 2.
How do I cancel a booking?
Open My Bookings → Upcoming → Cancel. You can cancel up to 12 h before the session by default.
Why WhatsApp and not Telegram?
Belarus skews heavily toward WhatsApp. Telegram is a secondary channel — toggle it on in your profile.
What about my data?
Stored on Supabase EU servers. Export & delete on request. We never sell data.
